Graduate Fair……

"Welbeck will be exhibiting at this year's Autumn London Graduate Recruitment Fair at the Business Design Centre

The University of Cambridge Commemorative Book….

Due to be published in early 2009, Welbeck will be featured in a 4 page spread in ‘Today and Tomorrow’, a commemorative book being produced by Cambridge University in conjunction with St James’s House.

The book, which is designed to bridge the gap between recruiters and the University, takes a look at the growth of the college and its thriving community of students, and their special relationship with the business world.

In every field, from Finance to Technology and everything in-between Cambridge has always been a leading contributor and this publication aims to celebrate this fact and give recognition to the businesses that, through investment, help to nurture future talent.

London Scottish Football Club….

Welbeck are proud to announce their association with this famous rugby club that, having risen like a phoenix after going into administration in 1999, now run several teams and a community sports programmes. The Academy programme provides coaches to schools and clubs and hopes to identify and mould the talent of the future. In addition the club also run a full calendar of social events.

The sponsorship program fits in with dynamic plans for the club to re-enter the upper echelons of the British game and Welbecks involvement will assist with this exciting growth.

Charity……

Cathy Booth, practice manager for the Welbeck Group, continues to lead the ‘Welbeckians’  involvement with The Douglas Bader Foundation, a UK registered charity committed to helping amputees and other physically disabled people rebuild their lives.

As a company of dedicated individuals we hugely admire the courage and sheer determination shown by members of the charity, who not only push themselves, but also cajole others, into taking part in find-raising events.

One of the events we would like to ask you to join us in supporting this year is a 5 day trek through limestone canyons and forested hills in Cuba.

Clare Forbes says about the event:

‘I am taking part to help others with disabilities like mine’

Clare is a double, below knee amputee, who was told in November 2003 that she would never walk again. Since then she has completed both the London Flora and New York City ING marathons, various half marathons and runs and during a year off, resting on medical advice, jumped out of planes on the end of a parachute!

Cathy is also taking part in the event and has been very busy raising sponsorship money over the last few months. The trip is due to take place in March 2008, and it’s not too late to lend your support!
