Recycling and Energy Efficiency

We have split our waste disposal now between two companies and have so far doubled our recycling rate. Our general waste goes through to a general recycling unit where approximately 70% of it is reused and we now separate all non-food paper, cardboard and plastics, which are then recycled separately.

Our secure paper waste also goes to a shredding facility that then recycles it.

Currently we are looking at ways to reduce our energy use and general waste levels. This includes the introduction of a ‘double sided printing’ policy (where possible), a ‘lights off’ policy for evening and week-ends, and also working towards fitting energy efficient light-bulbs throughout the office.

Our IT department have implemented further security systems on all our PCs that also ensure our computers automatically go into sleep mode when not being used, thereby saving energy.
