Nick Evans does the Ironman challenge in aid of Limbpower
Nick Evans, Welbeck Group Marketing & Communications, has also decided to raise funds for LimbPower this year.
Nick is an avid sportsman with a professional marketing background that includes working for Fulham FC and London Scottish Rugby Club. Nick joined Welbeck Group last year and whilst financial services is a very different enviroment for him, the many similarities between Welbeck Group's ethos and that of sporting individuals and professional athletes has proven to be a sound platform for him.
As someone who likes to challenge himself Nick has a long history of taking part in sporting events including several London Marathons.
Inspired by Cathy Booth and Jim Kelly's efforts for LimbPower in October 2010 Nick decided to take
part in Ironman under sponsorship this year and donate the proceeds to the charity. Whilst this is not Nick's first entry in the Ironman challenge, he has never taken part in aid of charity before.
This year the race is located in beautiful Bolton, Lancashire, just a few miles outside of Manchester and includes a two-loop swim in Rivington Reservoir followed by a spectacular bike course with some technical turns to keep people on their toes. Contestents also have to complete a climbing challenge midway through with some very fast decents.
